In the early 1900’s Schwartz Manufacturing began producing specialized fabric buffing wheels for industrial applications. In the 1920’s the product line was expanded into industrial filters constructed of engineered fabrics. In the late 1940’s we entered the growing dairy industry with the development of Isotropic milk filters, a significant innovation over gauze discs, and other common food industry filters. Harlan Schwartz realized that the dairy industry had its own special needs for filtration, and by developing a material specifically for milk filtration, he created a fabric which is still a leader in dairy sanitation. Today we manufacture our own custom engineered fabrics to maintain quality and to meet the specific requirements of our customers. In addition to custom applications, we design and produce our own line of Tuffy® Filter Media and Perfect Fit® Milk Filter Systems. Four generations of the Schwartz Family have proudly owned Schwartz Manufacturing. It is now operated by Alessandra Schwartz who is using her knowledge and creativity to help customers meet and solve their filtering needs and problems.
